HANNAH Parratt came up with an eloquent slogan after watching the anti-drugs drama Wings to Fly.
Eleven-year-old Hannah was among hundreds of Newport Year Six pupils who watched the production, organised annually by Gwent Police.
The Gaer school pupil entered a competition featured in a South Wales Argus supplement.
Her winning words were: "Drugs can be dangerous because they make you think you have got wings to fly. Reality is... you can die."
Hannah received a £20 voucher and a goodie bag.
Chief Superintendent Kevin Price said: "I was pleased to see the play had the impact that was desired. It reassures us that the message is getting through."
