A WOMAN was injured and a building badly damaged in an explosion in Nantyglo yesterday.
The injured woman is understood to be suffering from burns and is being treated at Swansea's Morriston Hospital.
Her injuries were sustained when two Calor gas bottles exploded at the Cwmcracken caravan site in the town.
The cause of the explosion, which severely damaged a kitchen outbuilding, is not yet known, and a gas bottle and cooker have been taken away to be examined.
Blaenau Gwent council was called in after the incident to demolish the kitchen in order to make it safe for other caravan residents.
Gwent Police are now conducting an inquiry and have collected accounts from several witnesses.
