PONTYPOOL United pre-season trining has been well attended with a number of new faces showing interest in playing for the club.
A number of trial games have been arranged beginning with a match against Abertillery on August 14 at home, kick-off 7pm, players meet at 6pm.
The other games arranged are August 18 Crumlin (away), August 21 Newport Saracens (home), August 25 Panteg (away).
New players are welcome at the trials and also training nights which are Mondays and Thursdays under the coaching team of Derek Parry and Andy Day. John Smith has decided to step down as chairman, and the new man in charge is ex-player Mark Picton.
Vice-chairman is Jerry Munn with Bill Lewis continuing as secretary. Former player Kurt Hamer takes over as fixture secretary.
The youth section are looking for volunteers to assist coach Steve Cross and secretary Steve Lapping.
