GWENT Green Party activists say they will be concentrating their election campaigning on Swansea.
The Greens hope to gain a breakthrough at the 2003 Assembly election, where proportional representation will be used again to elect 20 AMs on regional lists.
Gwent spokesman Owen Clarke told the Argus: "We decided to put our efforts into Swansea. At the last Assembly election we stood in all five seats and won a few percent in each. Now we're building up to next time and concentrating all that so we have a chance of getting an AM."
He said the party had not issued specific advice to its supporters in Gwent about who else they should support.
The party will be fielding candidates in Alyn and Deeside, Cardiff Central, Swansea West, Gower, Swansea East and Llanelli.
