NOMINATIONS for the election closed yesterday with 33 people putting themselves forward in Gwent.
The six constituencies are all being contested by the four main parties in Wales. A variety of smaller parties are represented ranging from an Independent pub landlord in Islwyn, the Communist Party in Newport East and the BNP in Newport West.
The UK Independence Party, Socialist Alliance and Socialist Labour Party are also putting candidates forward.
