NEWPORT flanker Jason Forster will captain Wales this weekend as they bid for a second rugby win over England this season.

Forget the Six Nations and Cardiff in February, Wales are taking on the Old Enemy at Twickenham this Saturday in the penultimate round of the IRB's Sevens Series and are bidding for a second consecutive win.

Having taken an English scalp in the exotic location of Kuala Lumpur on April 21 in a 24-14 win, Wales have the chance to settle a few scores having previously lost to England 29-0 in Shanghai at the beginning of last month.

Forster is joined in the Wales squad by fellow Gwent players Will Thomas from Cross Keys, as well as Emyr Lewis, Jon Pritchard and Matthew Watkins from Newport.

With England and Wales drawn alongside Samoa and the West Indies for the Twickenham event, the rugby carnival comes to Britain having kicked off in Durban and will finish after the Twickenham leg with the finale at Rodney Parade and the Millennium Stadium on June 2 and 3.

Speaking about this weekend's Twickenham draw, Wales manager John Ryan said: "I think the boys will do well, but the competition is very strong, although we have made good progress this season.

"The experience and expertise we gained along the way though was sufficient to raise our expectation levels.

"It's remarkable how the boys have acquitted themselves and improved. "Individually, our talent compares very well, but we still suffer on the fitness and organisation side of the game, but we have ow gone from the begging bowl to the main table."

Their record in the event underlines the progress made. In Dubai they made the semi-finals of the Bowl, and went one better in Wellington, losing to South Africa in the bowl final.

In the white-hot sevens cauldron of Hong Kong, the Welsh youngsters beat Russia 14-12 and the West Indies 47-0, before narrowly losing 10-5 to champions Fiji.

After qualifying for the final of the Plate, Wales drew 26-26 against the US Eagles before an injury-time try gave America a narrow win. But Wales will be looking for a good performance as the carnival atmosphere of the IRB series comes to Britain.
