A GARDEN created in memory of 14-year-old Ashley Burnett by his school friends was due to be opened on Friday night.
Ashley, who was a pupil at Cwmcarn High School, died in January last year from the C strain of meningitis.
Pupils in have been helping to create the garden which includes an area to exhibit sculptures produced in the school. The centrepiece is a slab of blue Pennant stone.
Pupils, teachers and representatives of the Meningitis Trust, who have donated money for the garden, are due to attend the opening.
Earlier this month the Argus reported how thieves had stolen plants from the memorial garden.
