EVERYTHING comes to those who wait, goes the saying, and that will be true for Swansea full back Kevin Morgan when he runs out for Wales against the Barbarians at the Millennium Stadium on Sunday.

Morgan won the last of his eight caps three years ago, a serious injury keeping him out of action for most of last season.

By general agreement, he has been back at his best this campaign, but overlooked by national coach Graham Henry who even preferred to play Llanelli outside half Stephen Jones in the No 15 jersey.

That has changed for the last international of the season and Morgan aims to grab his chance with both hands.

"I never thought, even with young players like Rhys Williams coming through, that I wouldn't get a chance again," said Morgan.

"I'm still only 24. I've kept on training hard and been waiting for this chance to be honest.

"I think I've been at my most consistent this year and I think I've warranted selection. Now I aim to grasp it with both hands.

"It's been a long time out of the limelight, three years, and it's nice to be back. Hopefully it's not just for one game."

Morgan admitted: "This season has been a bit frustrating, but I've kept trying to perform at my best and maybe I've got my reward now.

"I don't think I have anything to prove to anyone but myself. "I want to show I can still play at this level. So I'll go out to make sure I play to the best of my ability on Sunday."

Of the game, he said: "I think it's certain to be a quite open game, all Barbarians games are, and that will suit me.

"Touch wood, I'll get a bit of ball and show what I can do and I'm really looking forward to it.

"It's going to be a mammoth task, they have such good quality players. Hopefully we can win a bit of ball so that we can play against them and not marvel in what they do.

"If we manage that, we can surprise a few people."
