LEGAL eagle Charlotte Williams is spreading her wings to help the fight for justice in the Third World in Africa.
Charlotte, a law student in her final year at Exeter University, will fly to the African country of Tanzania to start her stint with the Summer Justice Project.
The 22-year-old, from Selby Close, Llanfrechfa, said: "I am studying Third World justice and the problems of corruption in the legal system, and this project will enable me to learn first-hand how law is practised there.
"I am very keen to see justice brought to the people involved in the Rwandan genocide and would possibly like to work in this field of the law."
Run by the Lawyers' Christian Fellowship and Christian aid charity the Tear Fund, the six-week scheme from July 2 to August 17 offered the opportunity to just 13 fellowship members, whittling the number down from the hundreds who applied.
The first three weeks will be spent in Tanzania, before moving on to Rwanda, where they will witness the International Criminal Tribunal into the country's genocide.
Those taking part in the student mission will also be involved in building projects in the areas they visit.
But philanthropist Charlotte claimed that even the hard physical labour involved in the scheme would be easier than her first task - raising sponsorship money to pay for her flights and accommodation.
"I am doing a sponsored swim at university and I have approached local firms for help," she said.
"But I need to raise £1,400, a huge target to meet. I would also like to give some money to the building projects I work on, so I am desperate." Anyone willing to sponsor Charlotte is asked to contact her on 01633 874801.
