Newport Wasps season - dogged by injury for much of the summer - ends at Premier League title chasing Rye House on Saturday night.
Promoter Tim Stone said: "The one good thing now is that once Saturday is out of the way the league season is done and dusted and we will start putting plans in place for next year."
Rye House are on the brink of their first championship since 1980 following their wins at Newport (on Sunday) and the following evening at Exeter. The Rockets will take the crown if they defeat the Wasps and Somerset (October 1) in their final two meetings, both at their Hoddesdon track.
However, it remains to be seen if former Wasp Chris Neath returns to the Rye House seven. He was unable to ride at the Hayley Stadium on Sunday because of a back injury picked up while working at his workshop.
Wasps' Mads Korneliussen - one of the riders to be hit by injury this summer - will be hoping to warm-up in style to launch a challenge for the Premier League riders' Championship at Sheffield on Sunday night (tapes-up 6.0pm) which is the reason Newport are without a home meeting on Sunday.
The Mavericks ride against Boston on Sunday night (tapes-up 6.30pm) in a Conference League meeting at the King's Lynn track, their adopted home.
Reserve rider Karl Mason has already set his sights on making a return for the Knock-out Cup tie at Weymouth on September 23.
The 19-year-old Mason who suffered left knee damage in a pits bend crash, causing him to miss the Mavericks meeting, said: "I would like to win the Knock-out Cup and I've set my sights on riding at Weymouth in the first leg of the semi-final but I will know more on Monday.
"As soon as my foot hit the floor I felt the knee go. It was more painful than anything I've known. I thought I could get around Tommy Allen but I got caught up in the dirt. I was trying to miss him and I got myself into a bit of trouble.
"I know there is nothing broken, but the swelling is quite bad. It is possibly ligament damage but it could have been a lot worse.
