TWO motorcyclists died and a pillion passenger was injured in separate crashes in Gwent.
Michael Pashley, 46, from Newport, died after the Honda motorbike he was riding was in collision with a Peugeot 206.
The accident happened on the A4042 between Abergavenny and Pontypool at 4.55pm on Saturday. Both vehicles were on the southbound carriageway.
The driver of the car was uninjured but Mr Pashley, who died later from his injuries, and a woman riding pillion, who suffered minor injuries, were rushed to Nevill Hall Hospital, Abergavenny.
Police closed the road for three hours
Lee Beddis, 37, from Blaina, died after a separate motorbike accident at about 7.45am on Friday.
One neighbour, who did not wish to be named, said he was riding along Gwehelog Road in Usk on his way to work, when his bike was in collision with a car.
Mr Beddis died later at the University of Wales Hospital in Cardiff.
She said: "I was so shocked when I heard. I only saw him the other day. He was a very nice person all the time, so cheerful."
The neighbour said the man had a young child and lived with his partner.
