PINK cowboys and cowgirls lined Newport's John Frost Square to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

Dozens of line dancing beginners and experts danced the afternoon away on Saturday guided by professional line dancing instructor Big Dave Gastap.

Dancers from all over South Wales joined in the fun as part of Cancer Research UK's All Women Together campaign.

It aims to raise awareness of breast cancer and the progress that has been made in tackling the disease which affects 41,000 women each year and six women in Wales every day.

It also highlights the ways local people can make a difference to women diagnosed with breast cancer, by raising money to fund research.

Claire Hopkins, Cancer Research UK community fundraiser said: "The pink line dance was fantastic fun for everyone. There are lots of other ways to have fun while supporting Cancer Research UK's breast cancer research programme.

"All you have to do is think pink! By joining our All Women Together campaign and hosting events with your colleagues, friends and family you can help Cancer Research UK to make progress in finding new answers to the disease."

Cancer Research UK's All Women Together campaign is backed by celebrities including broadcaster Gloria Hunniford, who lost her daughter Caron Keating to breast cancer, GMTV presenter Fiona Phillips and Ronan Keating, who lost his mother to the disease.
