Newport County are set to unveil Peter Beadle as their new manager tomorrow, Argus Sport can exclusively reveal.

The club have taken a vow of silence until Sunday as Beadle ties things up at his current club Taunton Town but the Argus has learnt that he was in Newport for a meeting on Thursday and stayed in the city overnight to complete negotiations yesterday morning.

The 33-year-old took over as manager at Southern League, Division One West outfit Taunton in the close season and has only had 14 league and cup games at the helm.

But, working to a tight budget, he has already steered them into contention in the league, lying just one point of the play-off zone with a couple of games in hand, and took Merthyr Tydfil to a replay in the FA Cup second qualifying round.

Beadle has made more then 350 Football League appearances, starting his career at Gillingham with spells at a number of clubs including Tottenham Hotspur, Watford, both Bristol City and Rovers and latterly Barnet followed by short periods at Team Bath as player/coach and at Clevedon Town as player/commercial manager.

This latest appointment becomes the third Newport County boss in 13 months and the new man already has a massive job on his hands to turn things round as they currently sit second from bottom in the Nationwide Conference South.

His first game in charge will be Nationwide South clash with Yeading at Spytty Park one week today.
