STEPHEN Jones, pictured, is returning to Wales to sign a two-year deal with Cardiff Blues.
The Wales and British Lions outside half who won his 50th cap during the Autumn series, is out of contract with Clermont Auvergne at the end of this season after leaving Llanelli Scarlets 18 months ago.
He was an instant success and his goal kicking exploits earned him rave reviews across the channel, ending last season as one of the leading points scorers in French rugby.
But he became concerned that his World Cup preparations with Wales would be affected by club commitments in France.
Wales play three internationals against France, England and Scotland in the summer of next year before the World Cup, and Jones could get caught in the crossfire between club and country if he remains in France.
He has been back in Wales talking to the Scarlets and Blues, and it is believed an announcement is imminent that he is heading for the Arms Park.
