A GLITTERING charity ball, attended by top Welsh businesses and their guests, raised almost £30,000 for the NSPCC Cymru/Wales FULL STOP appeal. The annual NSPCC Snowball and charity auction, hosted by FULL STOP appeal board chairman Stanley Thomas and sponsored by Newport-based Acorn Recruitment & Training was attended by some of Wales leading public figures and business people.
More than 350 tickets were sold for the event, the proceeds of which will help boost the FULL STOP appeal fund financing vital services for vulnerable children in Wales, which hopes to have totalled £3m by 2006.
Stanley Thomas said: "The need to protect children from cruelty is very important and it is fantastic to see so many other people feel this way too. All the money we've raised goes to helping children in our local communities.
"I would like to thank everyone who attended on the evening and those who helped organise this spectacular event. In doing so, we have raised much-needed funds for the FULL STOP appeal in Wales."
