Calzaghe says he has seen flaws in IBF champion Jeff Lacy's make-up which makes him confident he will KO the American in their title unification bout in Manchester on March 4.
Calzaghe was speaking at his third Press conference to promote the bill, this time in Cardiff yesterday, for which over 7,000 tickets have already been sold with a 20,000 sell-out predicted.
The bill also features the cruiserweight unification fight between Swansea's Enzo Maccarinelli, also present yesterday, and Johnny Nelson.
And the following week Cwmbran's Gary Lockett meets Ryan Rhodes for the vacant WBU world middleweight title at the Newport Centre, both boxers also in Cardiff to promote the contest.
"It's going to be a great night for Welsh/Italian boxing on March 4. We're going to have two Welsh/Italian world champions because I believe Enzo will win too," said Calzaghe.
"For a small country like Wales it will be a massive boost for sport.
"I see a lot of flaws in Lacy and believe I'm a lot faster, have a higher work rate and faster hands.
"I've been champion a long time, he's been champion a year and hasn't been tested. Robin Reid and Scott Pemberton (Lacy's last two victims) are at the tail end of their careers.
"I'm the best fighter by far he'll have been in the ring with and I honestly believe I will knock him out.
"He's a big puncher, but he loads his shots up and that will play into my hands.
"I'm an excellent counter-puncher and that's what I have to do in this fight, make sure I use my boxing skills and don't get careless as I have in the past (such as against Byron Mitchell, who put Calzaghe down in the first round before being stopped soon after).
"I have great respect for Lacy. He wants to unify the division too and I take my hat off that he's willing to come to the UK. To do that he must be 100 per cent confident of beating me.
But he is in for a massive shock and I think he, his manager and promoter have made a massive mistake in either underestimating me
