NEWPORT'S Young Venture Players are doing it again with another fun-filled musical.
The cast of 46 youngsters aged seven to fifteen are presenting at the Dolman Theatre the brilliantly funny Dazzle.
This musical parody of Star Trek charts the voyage of Starship Sunburster One on its highly important first mission under the command of dashingly handsome (and doesn't he know it!) Captain Sam Gallactic.
Ordered by the President of Homeworld to transport his daughter Dazzle Star to her finishing school, Captain Sam and his gallant crew are just tucking into a Chinese Space-takeaway, when they learn that Dazzle Star has been kidnapped by Slimebag the Haemorrhage, an Irish astral pirate! At the end of Act One we are left wondering why Dazzle has been kidnapped?
We find the answers to these questions and more in Act Two which includes a space time-warp back to the 1970s to encounter Sue Zuki and the Greasers.
Director Gordon Collins says: "The show has something for everyone and the youngsters have been putting their all into it. Their enthusiasm and drive has no limits which can be seen packed into a show with lunar-tic lyrics and stellar one-liners."
Dazzle takes to the stage from Wednesday, January 25, for four nights until Saturday, January 28.
Tickets cost £6.50 and can be collected from Newport Visitors Centre, John Frost Square, or by calling Pat Wells West on 01633 265660.
