A BANK apologised to a disabled and partially blind Newport customer after sending statements to the wrong address for almost a year.
The row between Lance Green, of Haisborough Avenue, and Lloyds TSB's Commercial Street, Newport, branch began last year.
"I had been very ill and in the autumn of 2003 arranged for a friend to have power of attorney," Mr Green said.
"In the spring of 2005 I told the bank orally, and through my solicitor, that I wished the power of attorney to be wound up and asked for all correspondence to be sent to my home address.
"Despite this, correspondence was still sent to the former attorney. "I wrote again in August 2005, but they continued to misdirect my statements.
"On October 14 I again complained and was told I would get my statements by October 19, which did not happen.
"When I telephoned the bank because I was unsure how much had been drawnI was told I had failed the security checks.
"If Lloyds TSB is so concerned about security, why did they spend the best part of a year sending my personal papers to a third party?"
A spokesman for Lloyds TSB said: "We are sorry for the inconvenience. We have now resolved the issue and by way of an apology have offered the customer £250, in line with the Ombudsman's guidelines."
Mr Green said he is now considering whether to go to the Ombudsman and is considering legal action.
