UK band Magenta are among the main forces behind a new wave of prog rock bands currently breaking on the shores of popular music.
The six-piece band are seen here with former Marillion singer Fish being presented with the Classic Rock Society's Band Of The Year award.
They sound like the great prog bands of old, like Yes, but with the energy of neo-prog bands such as Pendragon.
The band is based around keyboardist and composer Rob Reed who had previously worked with prog bands such as Fyreworks, Cyan and Trippa. Magenta also benefit from singer Christina Booth whose incredible voice sounds like Stevie Nicks crossed with Annie Haslam.
The group has been going since 2001 when they released their debut album Revolutions but are hoping that 2006 will see them reach a wider audience.
They released a second studio album in 2004, Seven, followed by a live album, Another Time, Another Place.
Last year saw their first live DVD and the band is currently working on a third studio album, Home.
Tonight (January 20) the band is live at the Point in Cardiff Bay.
