AS part of the current Where Good Music Matters season, sultry young singer-songwriter Jess Klein will be performing an exclusive Welsh gig in the intimate surroundings of The Gallery Bar at The Coliseum Theatre in Aberdare, on Thursday, February 2, at 8pm.
Post-punk, country, soul, pop? This seductive, many-sided singer does it all in a sultry, compelling mix of potent writing and virtuoso performance.
Klein's roots as an acoustic singer-songwriter are easily identifiable in her lyrics as there's a great deal of craft and sophistication, with strong observations, emotional impact and style throughout.
But because of Klein's versatile voice, she moves from folk to country through to rock without ever failing to convince.
She can purr like a sex kitten, twang like a country goddess, or shout like a rocker!
Her latest album, 'Strawberry Lover' is a highly recommended, confident, and colourful album that really stands out within the female singer-songwriter genre.
Intelligently written tracks combine pop hooks with stunning harmonies to produce a passionate and soulful collection.
Her live performance is punctuated with displays of heartbreaking grace. Jess proves to be equally youthful and sultry from track to track and the result is a mature performance with curious depth and feeling.
Tickets for this intimate and memorable evening of original acoustic music from Jess Klein are £8.50 and are available now from The Coliseum box office on 01685 881188.
