BLUES trio Trafficker are to play Abertillery Community Theatre on Friday, February 3.
The band, regarded by many critics as one of the best in the UK, are currently touring the country to promote their new cd Fade to Black. The band was founded by guitarist and vocalist Tommy Allen of whom Paul Jones said "(he) is one of the most talented songwriter guitarists to emerge from Britain in a long time...".
Backing Tommy is the tight rhythm section of Craig Bacon on drums and Barry Pethers on bass, both experinced musicians from the London area. After the spring tour Tommy is flying out to the southern USA to guest in a top Memphis blues band on a two-week tour of Mississippi, so highly is he regarded.
They recently squeezed in two recording sessions at BBC Radio Two for Paul Jones, supported Walter Trout and they were also the backing band behind Mojo Buford on his 2003 UK tour.
As individuals they have performed, jammed and worked with a number of producers for some of the greatest artists around, including George Michael, Sugababes and the blues maestro Buddy Guy.
Trafficker will be performing at Abertillery Community Theatre on Friday, February 3 at 8pm.
Tickets are on sale now at £10/£8 Blues Club members. Valleys Roots £1 off.
