A GWENT teenager is in a critical but stable condition in hospital after a fracas in Cwmbran.
The 18-year-old underwent surgery at Newport's Royal Gwent Hospital, while another 18-year-old man was taken to hospital with injuries but was later released.
He was arrested but is now on police bail. Two 16-year-old youths were arrested in connection with the incident but were released on police bail.
Police are appealing for information after the incident near the Pantry shop, in Greenmeadow Way at 4.50pm on Tuesday.
They are looking for a weapon, which is believed to be a blade of some kind. Any witnesses or anyone with information is asked to call 01633 838111 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
