THE Ian Parker Band has established a reputation across Europe as one of the UK's finest and hottest blues exports and they will be performing at Abertillery Community Theatre, on Friday February 17, at 8pm.
Ian's music is characterised by tormented tales expressed through a bitter-sweet vocal delivery and harrowing guitar work.
With his new band line-up, Ian's playing, singing and songwriting has developed notably, drawing on an eclectic range of influences. This young man is fast becoming Britain's best-loved blues/roots artist.
Ian's ever-expanding itinerary now includes many of the British and European festivals.
In the past Ian has performed alongside none other than Eric Clapton, opening a show for the guitar legend in London, in December 2002.
Since then Ian Parker and his band have gained respect and recognition from many of Blues' leading figures.
"The best band I've seen in a decade - Ian's voice, feel and guitar technique are what his contemporaries can only dream of!"
Also see the extraordinary young Bluesman Walter Trout at Abertillery Community Theatre, on Friday, February 17, at 8pm.
Tickets are £10/£8 - Blues Club Members/Valleys Roots get £1 off.
