THE SISTER of a defendant in a murder trial told a jury her brother started crying when she broke the news to him that Lemy Bullock was dead.
Yasmin Kaid said her brother Mohammed 'Mo' Nasser could not believe Mr Bullock had died when they spoke on the telephone on the day of his death.
Nasser, 45, of Kirkby Lane, Pill, Newport is on trial at Cardiff crown court with Martyn Bruce, 38, of Courtybella Gardens, also Pill. Both are accused of the murder of Mr Bullock.
The prosecution allege Nasser and Bruce murdered Mr Bullock, 36, at Harvey's bar after going there armed with a samurai sword.
Aaron Kent, of Livale Court, Bettws, Newport, has pleaded guilty to Mr Bullock's murder.
Mr Bullock died in the early hours of Wednesday, March 16, 2005, after he was attacked in the bar.
Mo Nasser's brother, Abdul 'Sammy' Nasser, also denies murder. He is accused of supplying the alleged murder weapon.
