A HOST of celebrities are making their artistic debut by drawing daffodils for a Monmouthshire art gallery next month.
Doctor Who actor David Tennant, singer Jem and comedian Griff Rhys Jones are among many stars whose artwork will hang in the Old Smithy Gallery, Maryport Street, Usk.
The celebrities were asked to sketch daffodils, termed 'daffodoodles", as part of a scheme to raise money for charity.
The pictures will appear in an exhibition before being auctioned to raise cash for cancer charity Marie Curie.
Actors from soaps Coronation Street and Emmerdale have contributed artwork.
Memorabilia such as a signed Real Madrid shirt from David Beckham will also be auctioned, as will signed photos by actors Hugh Grant and Sienna Miller.
David Sansom, who owns the gallery, said: "This is the first time we've raised money for Marie Curie.
"We've been overwhelmed by the response and the cross section of people who have helped."
The Marie Curie symbol, the daffodil, inspired the theme for the exhibition which will be held from March 27 to 31.
Work from professional artists will also be on show.
Mr Sansom is hoping they will raise more than £10,000 at the auction, held at Glen-yr-afon House Hotel in Usk.
Tickets for the auction cost £55 and include a three-course meal.
