UNTIL the Arctic Monkeys came along Flipron were widely being tipped as the next big thing.
It may still happen.
The band is made up of Mike Chitty Mark Wingfield, Mike Shepherds and Jesse Budd.
Budd says: "We had loads of record labels who took an interest but said they didn't know what to do with us. It takes a really adventurous little label to come along and say, 'We'll have a go, we really like it'."
Flipron released their first album on the label last summer, which, to give an indication of the languid verbosity engaged in by the band, goes by the name of Fancy Blues and Rustique Novelties - Thirty Nine Minutes in the Merciless Hands of Flipron.
Alongside an extensive summer tour of festivals and one-off gigs, Flipron also played four stages at Glastonbury last year.
They play the University of Wales, Newport, on March 2 and 26.
