THE cult movie classic, Get Carter, will be brought to life in a new stage adaptation to be shown at the Beaufort Theatre & Ballroom, Ebbw Vale, on Friday, March 31, at 7.30pm.
Get Carter is a roller-coaster ride of loud, bruising theatre - a brutal, aggressive, full-on, revenge tragedy.
London criminal henchman Jack Carter returns to his native Doncaster - a seedy twilight of British gangland culture - to investigate the death of his brother Frank.
Red Shift presents Ted Lewis' brutal story with a stunning soundtrack featuring classic hits from The Rolling Stones, The Kinks and more. Get Carter is a literary classic with all the cult appeal of Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs or Sin City.
Red Shift's latest offering restores Lewis' story to its rightful place in a long literary tradition of crime fiction and allows us a glimpse of an England now largely vanished.
The production contains scenes of an explicitly violent and sexual nature and is not recommended for people under 16.
Tickets are £8 / £6.50 for concessions. For further information and tickets, please contact the box office on 01495 350360 or go to www.blaenaugwentvenues.com
