THE Unseen are on tour with Sick Of It All throughout February and March and call at TJs, Newport, on Tuesday, February 27.
The Unseen's music (tracks can be heard on Hellcat's Give Em The Boot 4 compilation, Rock Against Bush Volume 2, and the Warped 04 Comp) and lyrics are filled with pent up fear, confusion, lust, guilt, dread, hate, and resentment.
The band is Scott (guitars), Tripp (bass and vocals), Mark (lead vocals), and Pat (drums) hail from Boston.
They grew up together, learned how to play their instruments together, wrote songs and formed The Unseen.
They've toured the planet, including the US five times, Japan and Europe, which has earned them a sizeable fan base the world over. Their style of choice is punk rock, mixed with hardcore and screamo and they write songs with great hooks.
There's a certain amount of politics in the lyrics and they write about concerns that have come from street level.
They're conscious of what's really messed up in the world, from the personal to broader world issues.
Now they are poised to capture a larger commercial audience with their first release on Hellcat Records, State Of Discontent, which was produced by The Dropkick Murphys' Ken Casey and mixed by Jim Siegel and Brett Gurewitz.
But it's still not fake punk like Green Day, so if you're tired of the plastic people and yearn for some good old filth, check out The Unseen as they rise above it faster than it piles up. But watch out as they will shake you!
