GWENT-based dance-rock band Bitchpups are playing the Queen's Head in Monmouth tonight with support from It Wore Him Down.
It's the second time the ambitious combo have played the town's popular music venue.
They've also recorded a new three track CD which is now available from the band's website www.bitchpups.com
Film of the band has also been taken recently and there is talk in the camp of a live DVD.
Why I Left Home is a typical Bitchpups' track and is available to download from the band's website.
It starts with a 70s style heavy rock riff which leads to a mono-tone chorus sung in an escapable Gwent accent.
The chorus has some poor attempts at harmony vocals and the song is pretty formulaic but the bass sounds loud enough for the band to be worth a sniff live.
It's not that Bitchpups are a bad band but what they do, which they do well, is pedestrian and hardly the inspiring stuff coming out of competition like Artic Monkeys.
l Bitchpups are cheap at £2 a night. For more info on the support band see www.myspace.com/itworehimdown
