A TAPED telephone conversation between Ms Benjamin and Jones was played to the jury.
It was recorded by Ms Benjamin in her role as a police informant. Part of the chat was about Jones' alleged proposition to Mr Routledge to kill her husband:
(telephone conversation) Ms Benjamin: "It's a bit of a shame really, cos, erm... he was prepared to do the job for £20,000, wasn't he?" Jones: "No, my brother was." Ms Benjamin: "Oh yeah, but, right, OK, I thought you said Bob was, as well, yeah." Jones: "He'd know how, but he won't do it."
