A HUNTINGTON's chorea sufferer and lifelong Liverpool fan from Pontypool fulfilled his dream to see his beloved club play at Anfield once again.
Wheelchair-bound Roger Morgan, 55, of Garndiffaith, overcame his physical difficulties to make the 370-mile round trip to watch the Reds beat Manchester City 1-0 last Saturday.
Mr Morgan's mother, Mary, made the special day possible by organising disabled seating at the ground with the help of his social worker, Andrea Cook, of Torfaen county borough council.
And the trip was made even more memorable as the club's disability liaison officer arranged for him to tour the great stadium after the match.
Mrs Morgan said: "It was his dream to go and see them play again. I thought, if he wants to go to Liverpool, I'll get him there.
"Roger won't let anything deter him."
Mr Morgan, who requires round-the-clock care, was diagnosed with the hereditary disease of the central nervous system in 1991. His father, Frederick, died of it 28 years ago.
To make the trip happen, Mrs Morgan had to pay for a special ambulance to transport them to the ground.
She said: "I am thrilled to bits about this trip. Roger really enjoyed the match."
