NEWPORT County boss Peter Beadle is urging supporters to come out in force for tonight's crucial Conference South clash with fellow strugglers Hayes (kick-off 7.45pm).
Beadle and his charges face their biggest game of the season with just ten games left in their bid to beat the drop and climb off the bottom of the table.
Carshalton and Eastbourne Borough's 2-2 draw last night leaves County five points from safety, though they could move to within two points of Carshalton and within three points of Hayes and leapfrog Maidenhead with victory tonight.
It is the biggest game of manager Beadle's career and he is desperate that his side get big support.
He explained: "This is far and away the biggest game of our season and we really need good backing.
"The fans are so loyal to the club and we need them more than ever tonight. I am not going to pretend it's not a huge game.
"Our last two performances (a 3-1 home defeat to Lewes and a 4-0 drubbing at Weymouth) have been far from acceptable and we need a win as a result.
"We can catch the teams around us, we have 30 points still to play for and I believe if the players have the right commitment levels they are capable of keeping this club up.
"However, to make it a five-team battle we have to play well and show the hard work that the supporters need to see."
Beadle criticised some of his senior players for their performances at Weymouth on Saturday and is looking for a reaction tonight.
"The players can answer me in the right way by playing like they were a few weeks ago, but we have to cut out the mistakes at the back." he said.
"I can forgive mistakes from the less experienced players in the side, but the more senior players need to impose themselves.
"I think John Brough and Andy Legg can both be important to us during the run-in, they bring with them experience and that can be crucial at big moments in games."
Striker Matt Green is rated at 70-30 against starting as he is suffering with an ankle injury, so Jason Bowen and Sam O'Sullivan are standing by to be front-runners alongside Craig Hughes.
Influential midfielder Lee Jenkins is still ruled out with medial knee ligament problems, but Tyrone Toppar will return to the 16 after playing youth football over the weekend.
In defence Beadle must decide who to leave out from Ian Hillier, Andy Legg, Geraint Bater, Gareth Warton, Terry Evans, John Brough and Paul Cochlin, an impossible decision to second guess on current form.
