THE Fetch Theatre Company will be performing a unique performance of The Masque of the Red Death at Beaufort Ballroom, Beaufort Theatre and Ballroom, Ebbw Vale on Thursday March 16 at 7.30pm.
This groundbreaking piece of theatre tells Edgar Allan Poe's gothic masterpiece in a new, spine-tingling way, using puppetry, mask and a unique style of visual theatre.
The Masque of the Red Death will blow the misconception that 'puppetry is for kids' out of the water and give young people and adults an amazing theatrical experience that tackles challenging material.
Music workshops previously undertaken with young people have created a powerful contemporary 'soundtrack' that will run throughout the show.
Creating a fairground ride where the audience will spin from scene to scene, The Masque of the Red Death will take the audience into the streets of an imaginary market town that has been hit by drugs, rather than a plague, with the masked ball of the original story now a rave.
The amazing set, along with the stunning puppets, moves into the Beaufort Ballroom, Beaufort Theatre & Ballroom, Ebbw Vale, on Thursday March 16 at 7.30pm. Tickets are £5.
There will also be four matinee performances and workshops for young people's groups, which are free thanks to funding from the Arts Outside Cardiff Initiative.
Suitable for ages 14+.
Tickets are limited to 65 seats for the evening performance at £5 per ticket - please book early to secure your seats.
