Mother's Day falls this month on Sunday the 26th, so you've got plenty of time to organise something really special for Mum.
You could go for the usual gifts (which most mums look forward to each year) of chocs and flowers. Or you could have a look in some of Newport's more quirky shops for something just that little bit special.
How about a piece of Pilgrim jewellery from Cherry Hill on Charles Street or a Bombay Duck trinket, also available at Cherry Hill or The Loft at Friends on Chepstow Road, Maindee?
Or try out the jewellery and gifts selection at Next, Accessorize, Marks and Spencer or the other High Street stores?
If you want to organise a special meal out, start booking now. There are plenty of places around Newport where you can a real treat - but get in early to avoid disappointment.
For those of you who want to treat your mum at home - cook her a special breakfast, make sure you do the dishes for a change and then pull out all the stops for her favourite meal in the evening.
Most of all, make it a day when she is pampered - because remember for the rest of the year, she'll make sure that most of the time she's pampering you!!
