A LORRY driver remains in a serious condition after an accident on the A40 near Abergavenny.
Two heavy good vehicles were involved in the collision at around 4.40am yesterday near the Hardwick roundabout on the road between Raglan and Abergavenny.
Police described the accident as "extremely serious".
Fire crews were called to the scene and helped paramedics. A 43-year-old man from Monmouth - one of the lorry drivers - was taken by ambulance to Abergavenny's Nevill Hall Hospital before being transferred to the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff.
Today he was described as being in a serious but stable condition.
The road was closed for police investigation but later re-opened.
