The 2006 folk festival at Tredegar House is taking shape.
Bookings of artists are now well under way for what will be the 17th folk festival at the venue.
On the music side, the well-known flat-picking guitarist Chris Moreton is confirmed for the Friday evening folk night, while Quicksilver will headline Saturday's concert, supported by Eos.
This year, for the first time, there will be a Sunday night concert, featuring Eddie Walker. Catherine Handley and Huw Chidgey (who performed at the Friday folk night last year) return to the festival as support.
This year's festival runs from Friday May 12 to Sunday May 14. This year's visiting dance sides will be De Kegelaar from Belgium and Taarnby-Kuadrillen from Denmark. Both are visiting the festival for the first time.
From closer to home, other dance sides which have already confirmed their participation are Seven Stars, Boojum Ladies Rapper & Ryburn Long Sword
Band Dai Bach will provide the music for Friday night's ceilidh, with a caller to be arranged.
Tradition is maintained with the appearance of the ever-popular ceilidh band Juice for the Saturday night ceilidh - along with expert caller Dave Parsons.
