POLICE are hunting a teenager who indecently assaulted a man as he walked home in Monmouth.
A man and woman were walking through Monmouth town centre at 1am on March 5 when they were approached by a 19-year-old calling himself Mark.
He began chatting with the couple. Police say the couple were concerned about him and walked through town with him to Carbonne Close. The woman went home and the two men carried on talking.
DS Ieuan Watkins said "Mark" then indecently assaulted the 52-year-old, who resisted, at which "Mark" became aggressive and pushed the victim against a wall.
A passer-by heard the man call for help and the offender ran off. DS Watkins says the 19-year-old was white, with dark hair, medium build and about 5ft 7in tall.
He said: "The victim would recognise his attacker if he saw him again. This is extremely unusual. There were still people in the area at that time of night.
"I would urge anyone who saw the incident or who could identify the offender to contact me as soon as possible."
