IF rave reviews from the world's Press are anything to go by, people in Newport who love Celtic music and salsa are in for a multi-cultural treat this month.
Salsa Celtica, on tour in the UK, are coming to Caerleon Town Hall on Sunday, March 26.
Edinburgh-based Salsa Celtica, who have played at major festivals all over Europe and North and South America, have agreed to perform in aid of this year's Caerleon Arts Festival.
Concert organiser Greville Hunt, who's also deputy chair of the Festival, said: "Getting a band who play on the world stage to come to a small town like Caerleon was a not-to-be missed opportunity and we're all very thrilled about it."
Salsa Celtica's latest release El Camino, has been described as a striking collision of South American exuberance and British folk roots. Cuban charanga combined with flutes, fiddles and bagpipes will make it a night to remember.
The evening starts at 8pm and there'll be a bar. Tickets (£10) at Rafi Goldsmiths' in the Ffwrrwm, Caerleon High Street (tel 430271) or the Tourist Information Centre, Caerleon High Street (tel 422656). See w w w . c a e r l e o n - a r t s . o r g for more details.
