JANE HELMICH takes a look at some of this spring's must-have fashions.
IT'S almost time to fling off those winter woolies and slip into something lighter and brighter for spring.
Among those making sure you don't skate on thin ice when it comes to choosing new season fashions are former Winter Olympic champion Jayne Torvill and 60s model icon Twiggy.
Jayne featured in the recent ITV hit show Dancing on Ice alongside Karen Barber and they turned to the Artigiano label for her outfits (above and immediately below).
The company says the new season is all about "soft, icy pastels" and here Jayne models some of their spring clothes which also include strong contrasts in black and white, Riviera brights and subtle shades of blush, cappuccino and mocha.
Debenhams say they are also delivering a strong selection of "must haves" from Designers at Debenhams and core brands this season.
Womenswear focuses on the dress, incorporating vintage slip dresses and separates in nudes and creams accessorised with embroidered silk scarves.
Hourglass silhouettes are achieved with new tailoring in gamine silk and jersey and no elegant outfit should be without a beaded bag or evening purse, according to the company.
Meanwhile, Marks and Spencer have Twiggy (bottom) as the perfect role model for older fashion followers, here seen in one of the elegant outfits from their stylish collection which includes black, white and the paler hues but also has flashes of brilliant colour such as a stunning green satin dress.
