HOLD onto your seats and prepare for a roller-coaster musical ride as legends of lounge and masters of melody The Kings of Swing, roll into The Riverfront with Absolute Swing on Friday, April 7, at 8pm.
Absolute Swing is a brand new show featuring the fabulous music of Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Nat King Cole, Tony Bennett and many more with plenty of old favourites including My Way, Mack the Knife, That's Life, Send in the Clowns, Moon River and My Kind of Town, and that's just for starters!
The show features Neil Gordon, fresh from his performance as Frank Sinatra in the West End tour of The Rat Pack.
Neil is joined on stage by Nik Stoter (a familiar face from TV) whose recent credits include the part of Tony in the UK tour of Barry Manilow's musical Copacabana, and John Langley, who has recently been playing the role of Harry in the International Tour of Mamma Mia and has toured extensively throughout the UK with the concert show Beyond Broadway. This is a tribute show with a difference.
Neil, Nik and John sing their hearts out but make no conscious effort to mimic physical or musical mannerisms of the kings to whom they're paying homage. Instead, they rely on their own considerable vocal powers and charm to interpret the best with the best.
Backed by the fantastic sound of the London Swing Orchestra, this superb West End cast put on a stunning show that will leave you dancing all the way home. Tickets for this show cost £13 at 01633 656675 or www.newport.gov.uk/riverfront.
