SIXTIES legends The Animals headline a stellar night of 60s music at Chepstow Castle on August 27.
The concert, organised by Chepstow-based music promotions company Hannah's Music Promotions (HMP), also features Lynda Gale Lewis, daughter of the late great Jerry Lee, Woodstock veterans Ten Years After, and US psychedelic rockers Big Brother And The Holding Company whose past members included the late Janis Joplin.
The highlight of the evening's music, though, will be an unforgettable performance by one of Britain's most groundbreaking bands, The Animals.
Born as part of the British blues scene of the 60s that also graced us with the Rolling Stones and Cream, The Animals had 11 UK Top 40 hits including We Gotta Get Out Of This Place and the timeless classic, House Of The Rising Sun, which reached number one in 1964.
Chepstow businesswoman Carol Mutlow, who also runs two music shops - Hannah's Music in Abergavenny and Chepstow - founded HMP in 2005. She has been a long-standing supporter of local bands and in 2000 launched Rock In The Dell, an annual music concert aimed solely at showcasing music groups from the Gwent area.
She said: "Like a lot of people, I'm a big fan of 60s music and with the likes of The Animals and Ten Years After, some of that decade's biggest bands will be performing in Chepstow. It's going to be a great night for nostalgia and music."
Tickets are £5, but don't go on sale until a month before the event. Book then by contacting the HMP ticket line on 01291 621050. l We're giving away two pairs of tickets to see August's show. To be in with a chance simply answer the following question:
