NEWPORT County boss Peter Beadle was full of praise for his side after they secured their third successive victory on Saturday, but he's refusing to get carried away.
By and large the results went for County at the weekend with rivals Maidenhead, Eastbourne and Hayes all losing, but Carshalton's victory over Dorchester means County are still in the bottom two, at least until Wednesday.
Beadle explained: "We have had the potential to win games and we have won three on the bounce and kept three clean-sheets, but we must do it all again on Wednesday.
"The results went well for us at the weekend but we are still in the bottom two, though we are in control of our own destiny and it is vital the players give me the same work-rate and determination against Hayes.
"We could have wrapped the game up earlier and scored a few more, but sometimes when you have a sound defensive footing then one goal can be enough and so it proved."
Beadle is full of admiration for the way his side are defending, particularly since the arrival of John Brough.
"I thought Tony Pennock was fantastic and the back four were superb," he said.
"The goalie didn't make a single error which is pleasing and I thought Lee Jenkins did really well after so long out (he missed 12 games with a medial knee ligament injury).
"We are setting standards now, Paul Cochlin is getting better and better and John Brough is a fantastic acquisition for us. His talking and organisation are superb and him and Ian Hillier look a really good pair, with plenty of experience.
"The lads have been outstanding in the last three weeks and are due a run and maybe our good luck is coming now.
"Our fitness is starting to shine through as well, the boys are coming on strong and playing really well.
"But make no mistake about it, the boys need to be looking ahead to Wednesday and we need another win."
Beadle's touchline ban has come to an end but he sat in the stand for Saturday's win and will continue to do so.
"You don't like to change a good thing, I am not going to tempt fate and Scott is more than capable of shouting at the players, so for now I will stay in the stand, it is working for us at the minute."
