SINGER/saxophonist/songwriter Curtis Stigers, at the forefront of a new generation of jazz singers, comes to Cardiff's St David's Hall on Monday, at 8 pm, joined by his acclaimed Trio for a concert of distinctive and unique jazz.
The concert features Curtis with Matthew Fries on piano, Phil Palombi on bass and Keith Hall on drums for an evening which pushes the boundaries of conventional jazz and expands the repertoire to create new and exciting modern jazz standards.
The concert follows the release of Stigers' latest critically acclaimed album, I Think It's Going To Rain Today, a new collection of songs by some of the greatest and most influential songwriters of today, including Sting, Randy Newman, Willie Nelson and Tom Waits as well as original compositions. Stigers' 2003 release, You Inspire Me, was voted Sunday Times Jazz CD of the Year.
With these current releases and his recent acclaimed sell-out UK tour, Stigers continues to blaze a path as one of his generation's finest and most original interpreters of modern songs.
Tickets are £16 and £17.50, plus booking fee, are on sale now from the St David's Hall box office on 029 2087 8444 or book online at www.stdavidshallcardiff.co.uk
