A SLEEPY Gwent village is enjoying life in the spotlight during filming of a star-studded new movie.
The Baker, starring Damian Lewis, Michael Gambon and Kate Ashfield, is being shot in Grosmont as the producers wanted a "remote Welsh village" for many of the scenes.
While the village pub and tearooms have been transformed for the set, the residents are also taking roles as extras in the film.
Jeanette Farr is due to appear with her children Ellie, 13, and Michael, eight. She said: "You don't get a chance to do this sort of thing very often. It's quite exciting."
Local councillor Bob Wilcox said a public meeting had been held to make sure people were happy for the film to be shot in Grosmont.
The Baker is a comedy about a hit-man who goes on the run after failing to fulfil a contract and hides out in a Welsh village where he is mistaken for the new baker.
Filming is also due to take place in Abergavenny and near Crickhowell.
