CHICO fans in Abergavenny are in for a good time when the X Factor star comes to the town in July.
He joins Journey South and Spandau Ballet legend Tony Hadley as the headline acts for this summer's inaugural, 10,000 capacity, Pop in the Park event at Bailey Park.
The two-day pop marathon, which takes place on the weekend of July 22 and 23, will also feature Ireland's biggest blues-soul exports The Commitments, who headline the event's second night.
Tony Hadley needs no introductions. With 80s super group Spandau Ballet he scored 17 Top 40 hits including the timeless number one True. Since then he has enjoyed a hugely successful solo career, touring with fellow 80s legends Go West and ABC and starring in ITV's Reborn in the USA series.
But it is the new Journey South, whose self-entitled debut album raced to the top of the UK charts last month, and pop's cheekiest star Chico, who became only the second X Factor contestant from the last series to land a chart-topping hit with Chico Time, that are set to have fans ringing the ticket hotline in their droves.
Tickets for opening day of the event featuring Journey South, Chico and Tony Hadley are £20, and just £25 for both Pop in the Park concerts. "We're delighted that such big pop music stars will be appearing in Abergavenny this summer. It's going to be a real party atmosphere and a great event the whole family can enjoy," said Carol Mutlow, owner of Hannah's Music Promotions (HMP) who is putting on the event.
