David Pickering was the guest speaker at the March meeting of the City of Newport Business Club.
He gave a review of the WRU from both a sporting and business context.
Given the recent speculation and ongoing saga of the WRU, the club was lucky to get such an insight - but it was a fascinating one none the less.
David spoke with clarity about the success of the WRU as a company over the past year.
He commented on the fact that unlike any other company the WRU is bound up with national pride and thus has about six million experts on hand to offer business and human resource advice and when 72 thousand of them gather in the business premises they can be quite outspoken!
The next meeting of the City of Newport Business Club will be on June 8 when the chairman of the Institute of Customer Service, Dr Ted Johns, will offer advice and suggestions for improving business performance through superior customer service.
