Children from St David's School and Park Street School have been showing off their creative talents in a series of arts workshops organised by Monmouthshire county council and WD Turner.
Working with artist Rubin Eynon, the children have developed their ideas for artwork that will be incorporated into the extensively refurbished and extended Harold Road School in Abergavenny, currently under construction by the Cardiff-based contractors WD Turner.
Both schools will take up residence in their new building ready for the autumn term 2006.
Justin Kettle of WD Turner said: "We really wanted to ensure the children were involved in the construction of their new Cantref Primary School. In addition to encouraging site visits, we felt that artwork created by the children would allow them to put their personal stamp on their school and thus brighten up the building environment for everyone."
As part of Willmott Dixon, one of the UK's leading privately owned construction companies; WD Turner is at the forefront of high profile partnerships and best value procurement across Wales.
