A CHARITY walk finally went ahead yesterday after heavy snow forced the original event to be cancelled.
More than 200 walkers took part in the 18-mile Castle to Castle Walk in aid of the St David's Hospice Foundation.
They walked from the Wave sculpture on the banks of the River Usk in Newport to Chepstow Castle, with some walkers joining in halfway for a shorter, nine-mile walk.
The original event on March 12 was cancelled after heavy snow hit Gwent, although a couple of intrepid walkers braved the conditions to take part.
