Newport County boss Peter Beadle is urging supporters to relax and enjoy themselves now Conference South safety has been confirmed, he just wishes he could follow his own advice!

County's 2-0 win at Cambridge City last weekend made it just one defeat in ten for Beadle's charges and guaranteed they won't be relegated.

For supporters who feared the worst when County were bottom of the league at the beginning of March, tomorrow's final game of the season, at home to Thurrock (kick-off 3pm), always seemed likely to be a do or die occasion.

However, with the club now safe, County plan a day of celebration. Children will get free entry and will have a variety of entertainment on hand, as well as a special edition programme.

It should be a smashing day, but Beadle is already planning for next season.

He said: "Our supporters have been brilliant and my message would be to come to the game and celebrate. The pressure is off and it can be an enjoyable day for all, hopefully we will have a great crowd again as we did on Easter Monday (1,059 v Farnborough Town).

"But I can't put my feet up and give myself a big pat on the back, Scott (Young) and myself are planning ahead.

"The key thing now is stability, I back the current squad I have, I want to keep them in place and to add to them.

"Over the next few days, I will sit down and discuss things with the players and try and secure everyone we want to stay for next season. That was always my plan, I was only holding off until we were mathematically safe.

"The board have made it clear they will back us in bringing in players to add to the squad, I want four new faces and to have a squad of 19 or 20 for next season. The majority of players seem keen to stay here and there is a buzz at Newport County."

Beadle will rotate his squad for tomorrow's game and has several injury problems.

Gary Fisken and Lee Jenkins are out with knee injuries, while Ian Hillier (hamstring), Paul Cochlin (dead-leg), Craig Hughes and Matt Green (knee) are both doubts.

Striker Nathan Bailey will get a chance to show Beadle he is worth signing up for next season, the impressive form of Matt Prosser may earn him a starting spot and members of County's all conquering youth team could receive a call-up if the injured four are unavailable.

County (provisional): Pennock, Bradley, Bater, Cochlin, Hearne, Thomas, Hillier, Brough, O'Sullivan, Toppar, Bowen, Davies, D Evans, Williams, Hughes, Green, Prosser, Bailey.
