A brace from captain fantastic Jason Forster lifted the gloom at Rodney Parade after the Dragons recorded a much-needed bonus point victory on Friday night.
Forster was inspirational for his side as they over-powered Glasgow to keep in the hunt for automatic Heineken Cup qualification.
A play-off still seems the most likely route into Europe's Premier club cup competition, but Paul Turner's men will be buoyed by this moral boosting victory over their Scottish opponents.
It wasn't a classic performance but, points and more importantly bonus points are all that matter at this stage of the season.
It took 15 minutes for the first points of the game to be scored and they came from the boot of Craig Warlow who sent over a penalty after Glasgow had dived in at a ruck.
Parks returned the compliment with Glasgow's first points just five minutes later to level the game in an opening quarter that was scrappy, thanks largely to whistle happy referee David Keane.
This spurred the Dragons into action and a series of quick tap penalties saw Hal Luscombe fall just inches short of the Glasgow line after desperate defence from the Scottish outfit.
However, in their efforts to stop the try they penalised and Craig Warlow made it 6-3 from in front of the posts.
And there was more for the Dragons fans to cheer when a penalty was kicked to the corner. The resulting line-out saw the Dragons captain Jason Forster bundle over for his 23rd Celtic League try. Warlow converted as the Dragons moved into a 13-3 lead.
That try meant Jason Forster became the all time Celtic League try scorer, moving ahead of Matthew J Watkins, not bad for a forward!
Parks gave Glasgow some hope with a penalty minutes later, but the visitors' task was made all that bit harder when Dan Turner was sent to the bin for handling in a ruck.
The Dragons again kicked the resulting penalty to the corner, and that man Forster was again on hand to touch down for his second try of the game and his tenth Celtic League try of the season.
With an decent advantage the Dragons refused to take their foot off the pedal though and another surging break into the Glasgow 22, eventually saw prop Adam Black dive over in the corner in stoppage time as Paul Turner's men went into half-time 25-6 ahead.
With the game seemingly won, the Dragons main incentive in the second-half would have been to secure a bonus point and go for that fourth try.
But to their credit it was Glasgow who started the second-half the brighter.
And outside-half Dan Parks got them back into the game with 20 minutes remaining with a jinxing run which saw him beat several tackles before touching down.
He also sent over the conversion for 25-13, as Glasgow edged back into the match.
But minutes later wing Nathan Brew sent the Rodney Parade fans wild with their fourth try of the evening to secure that bonus point.
Brew powered over from close range after a clever inside pass from Warlow in the Glasgow 22. Warlow added the extras to increase their lead to 32-13 with 15 minutes remaining.
To their credit Glasgow didn't let their heads drop and Colin Shaw got their second try of the evening diving over in the corner, minutes after Ceri Sweeney had been sent to the bin.
But it was too little to late for the Scottish side as the Dragons eased to a 32-18 victory.
